Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room plays a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring the operating environment is safe and the necessary instruments are prepared. This position requires attention to detail in maintaining sterilization standards and collaborating effectively with healthcare teams to facilitate patient care in a surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are available and meet sterilization requirements.
- Assist surgical teams during operations by providing the required tools and equipment promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for both patients and staff.
- Engage with patient care providers to assess and address patient needs throughout the surgical process.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is essential.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in an operating room setting is advantageous.
- Knowledge of sterilization processes and surgical instruments is required.
