Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist for OR General Surgery plays a vital role in providing support within the surgical environment. This position involves working closely with the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available for surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Support the physician during surgery by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Handle and process specimens as directed by surgical staff.
- Adhere to the five rights of medication administration for patient safety.
- Contribute to patient care within a surgical setting and follow all relevant protocols.
Qualifications
- Completion of a nationally accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
- Experience as a Surgical Technician in patient care environments.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
