Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room (OR) plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position involves collaboration with medical professionals to facilitate a comprehensive range of surgical services while adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile environment in the operating room.
- Participate in the setup of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Support the surgical team by providing necessary supplies during procedures.
- Label and handle laboratory specimens for analysis.
- Work closely with physicians and registered nurses to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technologist program.
- Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) preferred.
- Ability to apply sterile techniques consistently and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare team members.
