Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in providing support to the operating room (OR) team, specifically in the scrub capacity during surgical procedures. This position is essential for ensuring a sterile environment and the efficient handling of instruments and supplies during operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team by preparing the operating room for procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field and manage surgical instruments and supplies effectively.
- Work collaboratively with the OR staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Help in documenting and handling specimens as necessary.
- Participate in post-operative procedures to assist in patient care.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or education in surgical technology is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and procedures in the operating room.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a surgical technologist.
