Job Summary
The Switchboard Operator is responsible for managing incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate personnel, and providing a professional first point of contact for clients and visitors. This role involves maintaining a high level of customer service, ensuring the proper flow of communication within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and efficiently.
- Connect callers to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Provide information to callers and visitors as needed.
- Handle inquiries and facilitate communication across departments.
- Maintain an organized and updated directory of contacts.
- Perform routine office tasks to support administrative functions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in communications or office administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a switchboard or customer service role is preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a courteous telephone manner.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using basic office equipment and software.
