Test Engineer II
$60-65/HR
Detroit, MI The Test Engineer II designs and executes test plans to ensure product quality, performance, and reliability. This role focuses on manual and automated testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Test Engineer II Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software, embedded systems, and hardware.
- Perform manual and automated testing; track, analyze, and report defects.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or Robot Framework.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define requirements and test scenarios.
- Analyze test results and metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Support NI platform validation and use Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape).
- Maintain test environments, tools, and data.
Test Engineer II Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in software or systems testing.
- Experience with test automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Java, C++).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Hands-on experience with NI platform validation and Vector tools.
Test Engineer II Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or software testing certification (ISTQB, CSTE).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Embedded systems, IoT, or hardware testing experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory or compliance standards.
