Overview of the Test Technician Role
The Test Technician is responsible for executing tests on aerospace electronic control units, rotating machinery, MRO units, and production subassemblies. This individual will configure testing equipment, gather and interpret test data, resolve any issues that arise during testing, and collaborate with the engineering team to refine testing methodologies that ensure compliance with product specifications. The role encompasses both production and MRO testing while strictly following FAA safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities of the Test Technician
- Manage and conduct testing for production, MRO, and quality assurance.
- Test aerospace electronic control units, rotating machinery, and board-level assemblies.
- Set up and operate various test instruments, fixtures, and equipment.
- Gather, assess, and record testing data and findings.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing and conduct further analysis to meet required standards.
- Complete test documentation and craft precise, comprehensible test reports.
- Provide assistance with environmental testing as necessary.
- Collaborate with Product Design Engineers to enhance testing practices.
- Adhere to FAA regulations, as well as safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Be available for occasional travel and evening/night shifts as required.
Qualifications for the Test Technician
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related area with over 2 years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree with at least 1 year of experience; alternative qualifications may be assessed.
- Preferred experience includes electronics testing, aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or rotating machinery.
- Familiarity with board-level testing and electronic testing devices is advantageous.
- Demonstrated skills in analysis, troubleshooting, organization, and effective communication.
- Competence in Microsoft Office or comparable software applications.
- U.S. Person required due to export control regulations; no sponsorship will be provided.
