Laundry Technician
Location: Canton, Ohio
Salary: $15/hour
The role of the Environmental Services Linen Aide involves the effective preparation, distribution, and replenishment of linen and scrubs within a hospital setting. Tasks include sorting, packing, and transporting linens while ensuring the workspace remains clean, orderly, and safe. The ideal candidate should be reliable, detail-focused, and capable of working efficiently in a physically active and high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify linen requests for precision; count and check linens for any damage or stains.
- Address issues related to incomplete deliveries, purchasing, or requisition orders.
- Utilize computer systems to process receiving documentation.
- Organize linens for delivery, ensuring they are sorted, labeled, and packed correctly.
- Restock linens on exchange carts and neatly arrange scrubs on shelves, maintaining required par levels.
- Gather soiled linens from chutes and designated collection spots for laundering.
- Unpack bulk scrub bins and arrange items on shelves by size (goal: 4–5 carts filled per hour).
- Prepare and stage carts for delivery logistics.
- Assemble and pack ISO gowns each day (goal: 4–5 bags per day).
- Report any issues regarding orders, equipment, or processes to the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols across all work areas.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Able to operate in a quick-paced and potentially stressful work environment.
- Exemplary attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Effective verbal communication skills for team collaboration and issue resolution.
- Must be able to walk, bend, twist, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds; standing is required for about 90% of the shift.
- Ability to safely maneuver heavy linen carts.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks.
- Basic proficiency with office/computer tools for documentation processing.
