Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU position is vital in delivering patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves working with patients undergoing various stages of transplant and recovery, requiring a skilled nursing approach combined with telemetry monitoring to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to transplant patients across the surgical, telemetry, and step-down unit settings.
- Monitor and assess patient vitals and reactions, providing timely intervention as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Education and support for patients and families regarding transplant procedures and recovery protocols.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of patient care and responses to treatments.
- Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory compliance standards during patient care.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
- Experience in a Med-Surg or telemetry unit, particularly in transplant care, is highly advantageous.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and education within the nursing field.
