Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU role is essential for providing comprehensive care to patients who are undergoing transplant procedures and require monitoring. This position combines medical-surgical nursing with telemetry and step-down unit responsibilities, ensuring that patients receive high-quality and compassionate care throughout their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care with a focus on transplant recovery and related health issues.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and manage telemetry equipment to track heart rhythms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-transplant care and lifestyle modifications.
- Assess patients for any complications or issues that may arise during recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families during the transplantation process.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the respective state.
- Demonstrated experience in medical-surgical units or telemetry nursing, preferably in a transplant setting.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing patient care needs.
