Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU role is essential in providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing transplant procedures. This position emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all patient needs are met effectively throughout their care continuum.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the transplant unit, surgery, telemetry, and step-down unit settings.
- Coordinate with various healthcare professionals to implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and vital signs, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about transplant procedures and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during treatment.
Qualifications
- Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in transplant, medical-surgical, or telemetry nursing preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
