Job Summary
The Transplant Med-Surg/Tele/SDU role integrates medical-surgical care with telemetry monitoring for patients undergoing transplant procedures. This position is essential in providing both preoperative and postoperative care, ensuring patients receive comprehensive monitoring and support throughout their treatment journey. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes and promoting recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to transplant patients in a surgical and telemetry setting.
- Monitor and manage vital signs and other critical indicators in patients post-transplant.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
- Assist in the preparation and education of patients for their transplant procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Document patient progress and responses to treatment in a timely and precise manner.
- Support patients and their families by providing emotional and educational resources.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care standards.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state nursing license.
- Previous experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or transplant nursing preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to make critical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with patients and staff.
- Knowledgeable in transplant processes and post-operative care protocols.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
