Job Summary
The Trauma Ortho, Med Surg RN is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing treatment for orthopedic trauma and those in the medical-surgical unit. The role necessitates a deep understanding of patient needs, critical care procedures, and effective collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care and rehabilitation.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient records.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety and health regulations within the hospital unit.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Experience in trauma orthopedic nursing and surgical care is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
