Job Summary
The Trauma Ortho, Med Surg RN position requires a dedicated registered nurse with specialized experience in orthopedic trauma and medical-surgical care. This role is fundamental in providing exemplary nursing services to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries as well as those requiring medical-surgical interventions. The RN will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment, promoting optimal recovery outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic trauma treatments.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and manage IV fluids as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in the preparation and management of surgical procedures as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and protocols to ensure patient safety and care integrity.
Qualifications
- Currently hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
- Pursuit of or possession of specialty certifications in orthopedics or trauma nursing is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a medical-surgical or trauma nursing setting.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, clinical judgment, and problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
