Job Summary
The Trauma Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing top-tier care to patients with complex orthopedic conditions and post-surgical needs. This position requires a dedicated professional who can assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout their hospital stay. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support recovery processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient health status, particularly focusing on orthopedic injuries and surgical recoveries.
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and established protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses carefully.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment protocols and rehabilitation processes.
- Collaborate with doctors, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Document all patient care activities accurately in the medical records.
- Assist in emergency situations and facilitate transfers to higher levels of care when needed.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Previous experience in trauma orthopedic or medical-surgical nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications would be advantageous.
