Job Summary
The Trauma Ortho, Med-Surg RN plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, specializing in managing the care of patients recovering from orthopedic trauma and surgical procedures. This Registered Nurse exhibits expertise in patient assessment, advanced clinical decision-making, and collaboration with medical professionals to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient conditions and needs, documenting vital signs and symptoms accurately.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatments, procedures, and recovery processes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the standard of care in trauma and surgical nursing.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in trauma, orthopedic, or medical-surgical nursing is highly advantageous.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
