Job Summary
The Ultrasound Student Extern provides support to technologists during imaging procedures while ensuring patients are correctly positioned as per established protocols. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the efficient functioning of the department, along with responsibilities related to equipment upkeep, supply management, and accurate documentation of patient histories.
Responsibilities
- Assist technologists in performing imaging procedures.
- Position patients as per defined protocols.
- Ensure the department operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment in good working condition.
- Manage and organize medical supplies necessary for procedures.
- Document patient histories with precision and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be enrolled as full-time students at an accredited Diagnostic Sonography program.
- Must maintain good academic standing.
- A valid BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
