The Unit Clerk carries out a variety of clerical, reception, and communication tasks to assist patient care departments. Key responsibilities involve overseeing patient admissions and discharges, facilitating communication between departments, and ensuring accurate maintenance of patient records. A high school diploma or its equivalent is the basic educational requirement for this role. Candidates with credentials from a medical assistant program or secretarial training are preferred.
