Utility Operator I
Avon, OH
2nd Shift
$20/HR The Utility Operator is a member of the Production organization and is responsible for supporting the stockroom, paint, and finishing manufacturing activities to provide quality parts. Job Responsibilities
- Pull parts for assembly cells and maintain the stockroom inventory and shelves.
- Maintain established production rates at the expected quality level.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and tooling marks or other irregularities from machined parts on castings.
- Maintain and operate the wash tank system to ensure proper concentration levels, including daily titration tests.
- Clean the surface of parts free of dirt, oil, and media. Prepare parts properly for the Paint Department.
- Strip and clean improperly finished parts.
- Inspect work-in process and finished parts for conformance to all specifications and ensure proper documentation.
- Basic blueprint reading skills.
- Basic PC knowledge.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, specifications, written and verbal instructions.
- Applied math: Intermediate-level skills or demonstrated ability (add, subtract, units of measure, multiply, divide, fractions, decimals).
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
- Physical demand: Lift up to 50 pounds and standing.
