Job Summary
The Veterinary Technician plays a pivotal role in the veterinary team, providing essential support in animal care and assisting veterinarians in various capacities. This position involves performing technical tasks under the supervision of a veterinarian and ensuring the well-being of patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, including x-rays and lab work.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals during treatment and recovery.
- Provide client education on animal care and preventative measures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including handling equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Veterinary Technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
- Eligibility for the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Compassion and dedication towards animal welfare.
