Job description

Job Summary

The Veterinary Technician plays a pivotal role in the veterinary team, providing essential support in animal care and assisting veterinarians in various capacities. This position involves performing technical tasks under the supervision of a veterinarian and ensuring the well-being of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests, including x-rays and lab work.
  • Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals during treatment and recovery.
  • Provide client education on animal care and preventative measures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including handling equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Veterinary Technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
  • Eligibility for the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Compassion and dedication towards animal welfare.
