Job Summary
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing care during the childbirth process. This position requires expertise in maternal and neonatal nursing, ensuring mothers and their newborns receive optimal care throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the physical and emotional well-being of patients during labor.
- Assist in the delivery of newborns, ensuring a safe and healthy delivery process.
- Provide education and support to expectant mothers and their families regarding labor and delivery procedures.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes throughout the labor and delivery process.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and complications during childbirth, implementing appropriate protocols.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during the labor experience.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in labor and delivery nursing is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care and support in high-pressure situations.
