Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician III Carpenter is a key position within the Los Alamos Public Schools Facilities department, located in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role involves performing specialized maintenance tasks related to carpentry and other trades, ensuring facilities are well-maintained and compliant with safety codes and regulations. The technician will also be responsible for the upkeep and repair of various structures and installations.
Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry tasks related to the maintenance of school facilities.
- Perform repairs and enhancements on various structures to ensure functionality and safety.
- Keep abreast of applicable codes and regulations governing facility maintenance.
- Utilize tools and equipment properly and maintain them in good working order.
- Engage in locksmithing and other trade-related tasks as required.
- Demonstrate physical capability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and stand for extended periods.
- Operate motorized equipment effectively and safely.
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance or a related trades field, preferably in carpentry.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and applicable building codes.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with school staff and other maintenance personnel.
