The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in delivering safe and effective care during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and intuitively addressing the requirements of the surgical team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical operations.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow.
- Manage surgical instruments and equipment efficiently.
- Assist in positioning patients appropriately for procedures.
- Prepare and stock the operating room with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program, or an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is necessary.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
