Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) plays a vital role in the operating room, providing essential support to surgical teams during procedures. This position requires specialized knowledge and skills to ensure a sterile and safe surgical environment, contributing to patient care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room by organizing instruments and necessary supplies.
- Ensure the operating area maintains strict sterile standards throughout the surgical procedures.
- Support the surgical team by passing instruments and materials as required during surgeries.
- Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments post-surgery.
- Monitor patients’ comfort and assist with their needs before and after surgical interventions.
- Maintain knowledge of various surgical procedures and protocols to enhance performance.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) from an accredited organization.
- Completion of a recognized surgical technology program.
- Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team-centric environment.
