Job Summary
The position of Registered Nurse (RN) – OR Ambulatory PACU at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, is an onsite role that focuses on providing high-quality patient care in the post-anesthesia recovery unit. This role is critical to the effective operation of the healthcare network, ensuring that patients receive attentive and professional medical support after surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Administer patient assessments and monitor recovery in the post-anesthesia care unit.
- Implement and follow physician and nursing orders meticulously.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient progress and respond to any changes in condition promptly.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Connecticut.
- Recent experience in an acute care setting, preferably in post-anesthesia care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and patient safety protocols.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
