The Patient Registration Clerk-PRN plays a vital role in the healthcare system by ensuring that patient information is accurately collected and processed. This position is responsible for facilitating the smooth admission of patients, addressing inquiries, and maintaining records with a focus on quality service.
Responsibilities
- Collect patient demographic information and enter it into the system promptly.
- Assist patients with the registration process, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries efficiently.
- Verify insurance information and inform patients of their financial responsibilities.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations while handling patient information.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Perform other clerical tasks as assigned to support the office operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and medical software.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is advantageous.
