**Certified Surgical First Assist**
The Certified Surgical First Assist is responsible for positioning, preparing, and draping patients, while ensuring hemostasis and optimal wound visibility under the guidance of a surgeon. This role includes being an integral part of the surgical team, contributing to the setup and cleanup of the operating room, and upholding a sterile environment throughout procedures. Applicants must have completed a recognized surgical assistant program and have a minimum of three years of pertinent experience. Additionally, candidates must be registered with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners and hold professional certification as a Surgical First Assistant.
