Job Summary
The Hemodialysis RN plays a critical role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis treatments. This position requires expertise in renal nursing and involves collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Administer hemodialysis treatment to patients while monitoring their vital signs and overall well-being.
- Educate patients and their families about the hemodialysis process, dietary adjustments, and managing their condition.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to patient care and treatments performed.
- Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans.
- Respond to patients’ needs and concerns promptly, providing compassionate support throughout the treatment process.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols to maintain a safe dialysis environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring new nursing staff and dialysis technicians.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
- Previous experience in hemodialysis or related renal nursing is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Basic knowledge of renal anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are highly recommended.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
