Job Summary
The Hemodialysis RN plays a crucial role in the treatment and care of patients undergoing hemodialysis. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care, ensuring that patients receive safe and effective dialysis therapy while monitoring their health status throughout the process. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and maintain high standards of clinical care.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs before, during, and after hemodialysis.
- Administer medications as prescribed and provide patient education regarding treatment and home care.
- Manage dialysis equipment and maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond to patient needs and provide emotional support throughout the treatment process.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Experience in dialysis or related fields is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS may be required.
