Job description

Job Summary

The DHS Mobile Advocate plays a critical role in providing support and assistance within the DHS Child Welfare and Self-Sufficiency programs. This position focuses on aiding vulnerable populations by connecting them to essential services and resources, as well as facilitating access to community support networks.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and interact with clients in various community settings, assessing their needs and circumstances.
  • Provide guidance and support in navigating the Child Welfare and Self-Sufficiency systems.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources to enhance service access for clients.
  • Document client interactions and outcomes comprehensively to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist in the creation of individualized support plans tailored to client needs.
  • Promote awareness of available resources to clients through outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children and families in a social service setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social support systems.
  • Proficient in using technology to manage client information and case documentation.
