Job Summary
Crouse Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Outpatient Surgery/OR team at the Madison Irving Surgery Center in Syracuse, New York. This full-time position offers day shifts, starting either at 6:30 am or 7:00 am, concluding between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm, with the potential to float to the POB Surgery Center as needed.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical judgments and nursing care to outpatient surgery patients.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Assist in preoperative and postoperative patient management.
- Maintain a safe and effective environment for patients undergoing surgery.
- Monitor and document patients’ progress and respond to changes in condition.
- Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and care plans.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
- Previous experience in outpatient surgery or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS may be preferred.
