Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist – OR plays a crucial role in the operating room by providing support to the surgical team. This professional is primarily responsible for preparing the operating environment and assisting in various capacities to ensure patient safety and effective surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in preparing for operations.
- Ensure that the surgical area is adequately sterilized and that all instruments are prepared and available for use.
- Support the surgical team with additional tasks during procedures to enhance patient safety.
- Participate in decision-making regarding the status of surgical instruments and patient conditions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of medical conditions and genetic factors that may affect surgeries.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization processes and the operation of surgical instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and team collaboration abilities.
