Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) for OR Surgery plays a vital role at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, Connecticut. Established in 1998, the center is dedicated to providing exemplary care to patients and the community, especially recognized for its outstanding stroke care. This position requires expertise in preparing and maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Support surgical teams by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Assist during surgical procedures by providing necessary items to surgeons and surgical nurses.
- Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of the operating room before, during, and after surgery.
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and sterile techniques.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
- Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or eligibility to obtain this certification.
- Proficiency in maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures.
