Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) in the Operating Room for General Surgery plays a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and assisting the surgical team. This position is located at Windham Hospital in Willimantic, Connecticut, and requires onsite work.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available for surgical procedures.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and the highest standards of safety and hygiene throughout surgeries.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to optimize patient care during operations.
- Support in the handling and passing of instruments to surgeons during the procedure.
- Participate in post-operative care tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist or in an oriented surgical environment is required.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as a part of a team.
