Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (CST) in General Surgery plays a vital role in the operating room at an acute-care facility in New Britain, Connecticut. This position involves assisting in the preparation and execution of surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and providing support throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team before, during, and after surgical operations.
- Maintain a sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are appropriately managed.
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring that all necessary equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff to facilitate efficient surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
- Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the capability to obtain certification.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a sterile field effectively.
