Job Summary
The CAT Scan Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering accurate and detailed imaging of patients for diagnostic purposes. You will be responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) equipment, preparing patients for scans, and ensuring the safety and comfort of each individual during the process. Your expertise will support healthcare professionals in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans according to established protocols and standards.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and alleviating any concerns they may have.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and functioning before each use.
- Follow safety procedures to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
- Document patient information and scan results accurately for further evaluation by physicians.
- Cooperate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure cohesive care.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology or a related field.
- Registration or certification as a radiologic technologist, preferably with additional certification in CT scanning.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, and the principles of imaging technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
