Job Summary
The Adult Emergency Department (ED)/Trauma Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality care to adult patients experiencing medical emergencies or traumatic injuries. This nursing position requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, often challenging environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments and care to adult patients in the emergency and trauma settings.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes promptly, ensuring immediate intervention as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment options, care plans, and follow-up procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, complying with all documentation standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and patient satisfaction initiatives to enhance care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in emergency or trauma nursing is preferred, along with certifications in ACLS and TNCC.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in emergency care.
