Job Summary
The Adult Emergency Department (ED) Trauma Nurse plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions or traumatic injuries. This nursing professional is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for individuals in urgent and trauma situations, ensuring their safety and well-being during critical moments. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ conditions upon arrival in the ED.
- Initiate and perform nursing interventions as per critical care protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to formulate and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses continuously, documenting changes accurately.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment options and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while delivering care.
- Participate in trauma resuscitation and acute care interventions as required.
Qualifications
- Current RN license to practice in the relevant state.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
- Previous experience in emergency nursing or trauma care is highly desirable.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
