Job Summary
The Adult Emergency Department (ED) and trauma nurse plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care to adult patients experiencing acute health issues or traumatic events. This position requires swift clinical judgment, strong patient assessment skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that critical care is administered promptly and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with various emergencies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Support trauma protocols and facilitate immediate interventions during trauma cases.
- Monitor and document patients’ conditions, responses to treatments, and any changes in health status.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of practice.
- Experience in an emergency or trauma nursing setting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, protocols, and best practices.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to perform well under pressure and make quick decisions.
