Prototype Assembler
Location: Twinsburg, OH
Schedule: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM or 5:30 AM–2:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Compensation: $21/HR to $25/HR

Position Summary
As a Prototype Assembler, you will be tasked with the electrical and mechanical assembly of customized cabinet systems. This position demands proficiency in deciphering electrical schematics, technical diagrams, work orders, and specific customer requirements to create physical products. Key activities include wiring, preparing wires, installing components, labeling, modifying cabinets, and executing mechanical assembly, all while adhering to stringent safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery timelines.

Essential Duties

  • Read and act on electrical schematics, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications from company and customer sources.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly for components mounted on electrical panels and cabinets.
  • Assemble and disassemble doors, accessories, and other cabinet parts.
  • Conduct low-voltage, power, and signal wiring tasks.
  • Choose suitable wiring, components, hardware, and securing methods based on documentation.
  • Strip, crimp, terminate, route, and secure electrical wiring meticulously.
  • Install and accurately position electrical and mechanical elements within cabinets and panels.
  • Label wires, components, and cabinets accurately and consistently.
  • Modify cabinets and panels as required to align with project specifications.
  • Ensure consistency, craftsmanship, and quality across various builds.
  • Identify and troubleshoot assembly challenges while maintaining clear communication with team members and departments.
  • Uphold a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
  • Complete designated builds efficiently, adhering to project deadlines and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in electrical panel assembly.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical cabinet or control panel assembly procedures.
  • Familiarity with using common hand and power tools such as drills, crimpers, torque wrenches, and tape measures.
  • Ability to visualize end products and execute assembly from technical documents.
  • Competence in selecting components, determining their placement, and performing assembly independently.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and basic math capabilities.
  • Good manual dexterity and coordination are required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Previous experience in engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • An associate degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a production or prototype assembly context.
  • Familiarity with the electrical and mechanical assembly of custom-built equipment or cabinet systems.
