Job description
Job Summary
The Assistant Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing financial operations and helping ensure compliance with accounting standards. This position is key in supporting the Controller with various financial management tasks, enhancing reporting accuracy, and contributing to the effectiveness of the finance team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the organization’s accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit process and help facilitate needed documentation.
- Implement internal controls and identify areas for process improvement within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA certification or progress towards obtaining is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
