**Job Title: Assistant Engineer**
The Assistant Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the vessel’s engineering systems, which encompass propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary equipment. Key responsibilities involve conducting maintenance tasks, overseeing engine room operations, and adhering to safety and environmental protocols. Applicants should possess a valid endorsement as a chief or assistant engineer for steam, motor, or gas turbine vessels as specified in 46 CFR § 11.501. Furthermore, candidates must successfully pass a drug test, hold a U.S. passport, and be open to joining the International Organization of Masters, Mates, and Pilots union.
