Behavioral Health Nurse (RN)

Shift: Days or Nights
Pay: $50.50/hr  The Behavioral Health Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing acute psychiatric or behavioral health crises in an inpatient or crisis stabilization setting. This role focuses on rapid assessment, stabilization, medication management, and discharge planning within a short-term treatment model. Behavioral Health Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical health assessments upon admission
• Monitor and document patients’ mental status, behavior, and response to treatment
• Administer and manage psychiatric medications, including monitoring for side effects and adverse reactions
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation in high-risk situations
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Facilitate patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, coping skills, and discharge planning
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in discharge planning and coordination of follow-up care

Behavioral Health RN Requirements:

• Active OH or compact state RN license.
• BLS 
• Must have 18 months of recent behavioral health experience in a acute care setting (non-psychiatric facility). Must have 18 months perm experience in short term acute care hospital (non-psychiatric) before travel.
