Job description

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering competent nursing care to clients with mental health disorders. This position is integral to devising and implementing personalized care plans, aiming to enhance the emotional and psychological well-being of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the needs and conditions of patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and review treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families on mental health issues and coping strategies.
  • Document patient progress and pertinent information accurately in records.
  • Provide support and therapeutic interventions to enhance patient recovery.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with a focus on behavioral or mental health.
  • Strong understanding of psychiatric nursing principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and provide immediate support.
  • Compassion and patience in dealing with vulnerable populations.
