Billing Clerk
Cleveland, OH
$50K–$65K

Billing Clerk will support the Accounting department by managing all phases of client billing, including invoice preparation, edits, write-offs, and time transfers. This role works closely with attorneys and clients to ensure billing accuracy, timely processing, and compliance with company policies.

Billing Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, print, and distribute monthly pre-bills to billing attorneys.
  • Edit invoices based on attorney feedback and ensure timely completion each billing cycle.
  • Generate and submit client invoices through the accounting system, including electronic billing.
  • Maintain and update client and matter information within the accounting system.
  • Process write-offs in accordance with company policy.
  • Respond to billing inquiries from attorneys and clients, providing analysis and clarification as needed.
  • Perform other billing- or accounting-related duties as assigned.

Billing Clerk Requirements:

  • Previous experience in billing, accounting, or related administrative roles.
  • Working knowledge of client billing processes and invoice management.
  • Experience working with accounting or billing systems; 3E experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with attorneys and clients.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in billing data.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and monthly billing cycles.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
