BIM Designer
Location: Hanover, MD
Overview of the BIM Designer Role:
The BIM Designer is tasked with contributing modeling efforts that facilitate project delivery in alignment with established standards. As a member of the production team, this role requires excellent communication skills to ensure the creation of accurate and efficient models as well as deliverables from assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities of the BIM Designer:

  • Utilize provided field details to perform layouts and input data into Revit with the guidance of the Supervisor/Lead Modeler, adhering to REI standards.
  • Conduct self-reviews of your work to ensure precision before it is submitted for further review.
  • Generate project sheets in compliance with project specifications and REI standards.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the Revit model environment in accordance with Company BIM Standards.
  • Document the status of assigned tasks in line with project standards.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and Non-Disclosure agreements pertinent to this position.
  • Safeguard proprietary and Company intellectual property.
  • The above duties aim to provide a general overview of the expected work for this position, but are not exhaustive, and other responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.

Desired Skills for the BIM Designer:

  • Strong self-management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Revit, with skills in creating and manipulating views, browser structures, sheets, schedules, filters, and more.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions.
  • Knowledgeable in REI BIM processes, procedures, and standards, including workflow methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret 2D plans in both electronic and hard copy formats, such as one-lines, lighting schedules, panel schedules, and feeder schedules.
  • Willingness to learn industry-standard software, including but not limited to BlueBeam, Autodesk Cloud products, and NavisWorks.
  • Capable of integrating documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
  • Ability to type, proofread, and spell-check work independently.
  • Familiar with working within Revit work-sharing environments.
  • Understanding 3D coordination with various trades.
  • Competent in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Skillful in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks, adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong solutions-oriented verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees at all levels, including both management and staff.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent mandatory.
  • Associate degree preferred in Computerized Drafting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in electrical drafting, installation, or working with Revit is required.
  • Experience may be a combination of education, training, and relevant work history.
