BIM Designer Overview:
The BIM Designer plays a crucial role in modeling for project execution and adherence to established standards. As a vital part of the production team, the designer is expected to communicate effectively to ensure that modeling and task outputs are both precise and efficient.
BIM Designer Responsibilities:
- Execute layout and field detail integration into Revit, with support from the Supervisor/Lead Modeler, in line with REI Standards.
- Conduct self-reviews of work to guarantee accuracy before submission to others.
- Prepare project sheets in compliance with requirements and REI standards.
- Uphold the Revit modeling environment conforming to Company BIM Standards.
- Document progress on assigned tasks according to project standards.
- Adhere to all REI confidentiality and Non-Disclosure protocols relevant to the position.
- Safeguard Company Proprietary or Intellectual Property.

BIM Designer Desired Skills:
- Strong self-management capabilities.
- Proficient in Revit, including the ability to create and modify views, navigate the browser structure, and manage sheets/schedules/filters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow intricate directions effectively.
- Familiarity with REI BIM processes, procedures, and workflow standards.
- Competence in reading 2D plans, both digital and print, including one-lines and various schedules.
- Readiness to learn industry-standard software such as BlueBeam, Autodesk Cloud applications, and NavisWorks.
- Capacity to import various document types like spreadsheets, images, and text files into Revit.
- Ability to type, proofread, and spell-check work independently.
- Understanding of collaboration within Revit work-sharing settings.
- Knowledge of 3D coordination with different trades.
- Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Capability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities as needed.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt positively to changes in requirements.
- Strong, solutions-focused oral and written communication skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and a collaborative team member.
- Ability to interact professionally with employees at all organizational levels, including management and staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate degree in Computerized Drafting or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in electrical drafting, installation, or Revit is required.
- A combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be acceptable.
