Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse (RN)
Location: Cleveland, OH
Shift: Rotating (3) 12 hr shifts
Weekly Gross: $68.50 (local) or $2736/week (travel) Bone Marrow Transplant RN Job Description The Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing bone marrow or stem cell transplantation. The nurse monitors patients before, during, and after the transplant process, manages complex treatments such as chemotherapy and immunosuppressive therapy, and helps prevent and manage complications. Bone Marrow Nurse Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed physical assessments and review patient history.
  • Monitor vital signs, lab values, and immune system status.
  • Identify early signs of complications such as infection or transplant rejection.
  • Educate patients and families about the transplant process.
  • Prepare patients for high-dose chemotherapy or radiation therapy prior to transplant.
  • Coordinate with transplant physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Administer medications including immunosuppressants, antibiotics, and blood products.
  • Administer chemotherapy, IV fluids, and supportive medications.
  • Manage central venous lines (PICC lines, ports, or tunneled catheters).
  • Ensure strict infection control protocols.

Bone Marrow Nurse Requirements:

  • Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license
  • 2+ years of recent BMT RN experience
  • BLS and ONC certifications
