Perioperative Supply Technician

$20-24/HR
8:30 AM-5 PM The Perioperative Supply Technician assists in the efficient and safe delivery of sterile supplies to Perioperative Services Units. i.e., Operating Room, Sterile Processing, Recovery Room, Endoscopy, Cystoscopy, Ambulatory Surgery Center. Technician will also conduct inventory, prepare, stock and restock of sterile supplies. Perioperative Supply Tech Responsibilities:
- Conducts inventory, prepare, stock, and deliver sterile equipment and supplies to Perioperative Services Units. Orders supplies and processes bill only requests.
- Delivers ordered supplies and other materials to storage and distribution area in Perioperative Services and stores appropriately.
- Inspects items for damage, expiration date, accuracy in numbers ordered, and adherence to qualitative specifications.
- Receives, stocks, and re-stocks supplies, solutions, disposable sterile trays and packs. Inspect disposable trays for proper labeling, expiration dates, and deteriorating wrappings
- Maintains an accurate inventory of all medical equipment and devices assigned to Perioperative Services
- Maintains a daily update of all medical supplies and devices in service in the Operating Room and Sterile Processing.
- Maintains records of monthly expenditures and coordinates with leadership for budget information for various monthly reports.
- Coordinates with outside vendors concerning delivery of rented equipment. And other jobs as necessary.
Perioperative Supply Tech Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience in supply acquisition and central supply work experience in a hospital or medical care facility is preferred.
- Knowledge of supply policies and procedures in order to conduct inventories and prepare, stock, and deliver sterile equipment and supplies to nursing units.
- Knowledge of conducting and maintaining multiple inventories.
- Familiar with common medical terminology and electronic ordering.
- Customer-focused with a service attitude.
- Ability to use independent judgment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a high-stress environment in a calm manner.
- Exceptional organizational skills; detail oriented.
- Processes basic math and computer skills, particularly data entry.
