Job Summary
The Perioperative Supply Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of surgical services by managing the supply chain related to perioperative care. This position is fundamental in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the receiving, inventory management, and distribution of perioperative supplies.
- Ensure that all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile, organized, and accessible prior to procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to identify supply needs and manage shortages effectively.
- Participate in regular inventory audits and assist in maintaining par levels for surgical inventory.
- Assist in the preparation and cleaning of surgical trays and instruments.
- Document and track supply usage and assist in ordering replenishments as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in a related field is a plus.
- Experience in supply chain management or hospital logistics preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
