Job Summary
The SPD Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sterile processing department to ensure optimal operational performance. This role focuses on the effective management of staff, compliance with safety standards, and the implementation of procedures to guarantee the highest levels of instrument sanitation and preparation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the sterile processing department.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies regarding sterilization practices.
- Train and mentor staff to uphold quality control and safety measures in instrument processing.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to meet their needs for sterilized instruments and materials.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to monitor departmental performance and implement improvements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a sterile processing environment.
- Solid knowledge of sterilization standards, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with strong communication skills.
- Certification in sterile processing preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
