CAD Technician

Position Overview for CAD Technician:
We are in search of a skilled CAD Technician to assist a major research facility with its intricate infrastructure needs. In this capacity, you will be responsible for creating electrical, mechanical, site, and architectural drawings pivotal for various projects, equipment setups, and capital enhancements. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and contractors to convert their specifications into precise CAD designs that adhere to our organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities of CAD Technician:
- Create and revise drawings utilizing AutoCAD.
- Assist engineers and project leaders throughout the planning, design, and construction phases.
- Perform fieldwork to collect project data and revise as-built documentation accordingly.
- Oversee both online and physical archives of drawings.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory codes and the company’s EHS&S policies.
Qualifications for CAD Technician:
- Associate’s degree or CAD certification is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of CAD drafting/design experience in engineering, R&D, or industrial settings.
- Expertise in AutoCAD is essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications for CAD Technician:
- Familiarity with infrastructure and building systems (utilities, laboratories, greenhouses, etc.).
- Experience with piping and electrical diagrams as well as CMMS software (such as Maximo, eMaint).
- Safety certifications are an advantage.
