Job Summary
The Cardiac Surgery RN First Assistant plays a crucial role in providing specialized support and care during cardiac surgical procedures. This position is dedicated to assisting the surgical team by ensuring patient safety and optimizing surgical outcomes. Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during cardiac procedures by managing instruments and ensuring a sterile environment.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to provide effective preoperative and postoperative care for cardiac surgery patients.
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide immediate interventions when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and recovery expectations.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in accordance with institutional protocols.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification.
- Previous experience in cardiac surgery or a related field is required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and a comprehensive understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Certification as a First Assistant or equivalent credential is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team.
