Job Summary
The Cardiology Stepdown Nurse plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and those experiencing heart-related issues. This position demands a high level of expertise, empathy, and attention to detail to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety during their recovery period.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition following cardiac procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about heart health and recovery processes.
- Respond promptly to changes in patients’ conditions and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Maintain meticulous records of patient progress and communicate effectively with medical staff.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license and relevant certifications in cardiac care.
- Experience in a stepdown, telemetry, or critical care setting preferred.
- Strong assessment and clinical skills in managing cardiac patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to support patient and family education.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
