Job description
Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse plays a vital role in the surgical team, specializing in the care of patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of cardiac surgery protocols and the ability to provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room for cardiovascular surgeries.
- Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous therapies in accordance with established guidelines.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff to ensure effective patient management.
- Document patient care activities and maintain comprehensive health records.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required with specialization in cardiovascular nursing preferred.
- Experience in cardiovascular or surgical nursing is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
