Job description
Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse plays a critical role in the surgical team, providing expert nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This position involves maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgery.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing patients for cardiac surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall safety throughout the surgery.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other operating room personnel.
- Ensure all necessary instrumentation and supplies are readily available and sterile.
- Document patient care activities and any changes in condition accurately.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care procedures.
Qualifications
- Current nursing license in the state of practice.
- Experience in operating room nursing, particularly in a cardiovascular setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
