Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in the operating room by providing essential support to surgeons and surgical teams. This position includes preparing surgical instruments, ensuring a sterile environment, and assisting during surgical procedures to promote patient safety and efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of surgical instruments and equipment required for various surgical procedures.
- Hand instruments to surgeons during operations efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure all surgical supplies and equipment are in proper working condition.
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to facilitate seamless surgical workflows.
- Adhere to safety protocols to minimize risks to patients and staff.
- Participate in the cleanup and sterilization of surgical equipment post-procedure.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Keen understanding of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Current knowledge of safety standards and regulations pertaining to surgical practices.
